Parents and Carers – Evidence for Learning Survey

Dear All,

Hurray, another survey! We are sending this updated survey out to see if there is an improvement in the understanding and use of Evidence for Learning. We attended a conference on Evidence for Learning and there are lots of exciting new developments in the pipeline (we’re still waiting for the app for parents!) which will improve and extend the function of the app.  It is clearly becoming better known and more respected as a tool for measuring progress and capturing the learning journey that our pupils take, as OFSTED are now moving away from data driven progress to progress against EHCP outcomes and each child’s own starting point.

Again a very big thank you to those who completed the survey before, I’d love it if we could smash our previous number of responses (27 – come on we can do better than that!).  As you will know from our communication about how we have used your responses to surveys we do do something about it and we do really value your opinions so that we can make things even better!  if you want your voice heard this is an excellent vehicle for this.

Thanks so much (again)

Kate Davies

Pancake
Bobbin

The rabbit is now officially called Bugsy (Class 4’s entry).

Fire Engine Visit

It is always a good day when you have a visit from a fire engine. Green Watch from West Bridgford came in on Tuesday 14th and all three primary classes and class 7 had the chance to meet the fire personnel and explore the fire engine. Thank you Green Watch for the time you were able to spare with us.

Ladies Charity Football May 2019

On Sunday 12th May Ash Lea staff and friends took part in the 4th annual Ash Lea Ladies versus Sherwood Ladies football match.

Our team were supported by some amazing mascots; parents, family and friends.

The sun shone down for the whole event which ended with Sherwood Ladies winning 4 – 2

With refreshments, raffle and team fees the event raised over £1200!

The monies will be divided between a community defibrillator which school are buying and the newly planned outdoor learning area.

A huge thank you to all who took part and to Rebecca Walker for organising the event.

School of Rock Performance

I can not tell you how proud I am of all the pupils and staff for their work on our performance of School of Rock. Post 16 students who directed, produced and wrote some of the songs for the show have been amazing. All the pupils were stars in their own right and showed us there is no limit to what they can achieve.

Thank you to all the parents, carers, families and guests for being a wonderful audience and joining in all the singing, clapping and dancing.

We will be having a little rest now before thinking about next year…
