Summer Term Weekly Challenges!

Hello everyone, I hope you had a happy and safe Easter Holiday with lots of opportunities to make memories with your families at home.

As it’s the start of a new term we are going to be suggesting work and ideas for activities in a new way. Each week on here we will have a link for the book of the week, with lots of ideas for different activities. Please don’t feel you need to work through them all! We would love to see anything you make or do. Uploading pictures or videos to Evidence for Learning means our whole staff team can see them and leave you a comment, photo or video so make sure you check back.

You can still use your work from home packs and access any other ideas that were on here previously, which we are moving into either the general or songs and videos section. Additionally each week there will be a whole school challenge and we will also try and add dates of anything interesting that aren’t part of the normal school diary.

Please let Lisa or Stacey know if you have any questions or need support (lisa.brown@ashlea.notts.sch.uk, Stacey.carver@ashlea.notts.sch.uk)

Week Commencing 20th July 2020

Hi Everyone,

Well, what a year this has been! As we get to the final week of the school term we are putting up our last book of the week for you, Shark in the Park by Nick Sharratt. This week it is also read by Mrs Douglas. We hope you have enjoyed the books and got some good ideas for things to do whilst you have been at home. It has been great to see so many of you over zoom and gradually coming back into school over the last few weeks, you have all done brilliantly in a very difficult time for everyone.

As well as the last book of the week this will also be our last week as a class group, so we can look back and remember some of the amazing things we have shared this year:

Christmas and the Nativity – great voices in the church

Troy’s birthday parachute game – I have never seen so much shredded paper everywhere

Dancing farmers and playing with mud, oats and many other messy things during the farming topic with Katherine and Reuben sitting in it all and loving it.

Braiden, Dylan and Edward riding bikes and trikes with Katherine and Jake enjoying their lifts on the back

Enjoy your summer and we all look forward to seeing you in September.
